Overview of South Sumatra

South Sumatra province administratively consists of 10 (ten) District and 4 (four) cities government, with a total area of 99888.28 square kilometers and population about 6.899.892 inhabitants. The Fourth of administrative city such as Palembang as the capital, Pagar Alam, Lubuk Linggau dan Prabumulih.

The province has borders with the Jambi province in the north, the province of Lampung in South Bengkulu province and in the West. Are in the Eastern part of the boundary with the island of Bangka and Belitung. The mainland province of South Sumatra, also known as the Earth because of the beach area this century in 712 CE is the center of the largest maritime empire and in the Indonesian.

This region beriklim tropical and wet. Throughout the year, the province is only influenced by two seasons, namely, the rainy season and dry season. Air temperature varied between 24.7 to 32.9 degrees Celsius with humidity levels ranging between 82% to 88%. Relative season Rain fell in the month of October to April. Variations in rainfall ranges between 2,100 mm to 3,264 mm. Normally December is a month of rainfall at most. Meanwhile, the dry season usually starts in June until September.

South Sumatra has many tourism objects, such as natural tourism, cultural tourism and tourism history. Natural tourism objects such as mountains with flora and fauna and diverse, rivers, lakes, coastline, which is very long, islands, waterfalls and the variety of traditions and culture that is unique and interesting.
